Xingtai University

Xingtai University, formerly known as the fourth Junior Normal School of Zhili, was founded in 1910 (the second year of Xuantong). It was one of the first four normal schools in Zhili Province at that time. After the establishment of the Republic of China in 1912, it was renamed Zhili fourth Junior Normal School, which used to be Hebei fourth normal school and Xingtai normal school. In 1984, it was upgraded to Xingtai normal college; in March 1996, it was merged with the former Xingtai Institute of education and Xingtai economic management cadre school to establish Xingtai normal college; in 2002, it was upgraded to undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of education. At present, it is the only university in Hebei Province, which has been built and developed from the original site.

During the 1911 Revolution, the national revolution, the agrarian revolution, the war of resistance against Japan, the war of liberation and the construction of new China, the school made important contributions to the national interests and the prosperity of the country. In May 1925, the Party branch committee of the fourth division of Zhili was established, which was one of the earliest branches of the Communist Party of China in Southern Hebei at that time. In March 1931, the movement of the fourth division of Zhili had a great influence on the whole country and promoted the process of democratic governance of universities. The school has trained and transported a large number of proletarian revolutionaries, famous experts and scholars, and leading cadres at or above the provincial and ministerial level, such as Liu Ningyi, former chairman of the all China Federation of trade unions, Zhang Xi, Secretary of the Henan provincial Party committee and executive deputy director of the State Planning Commission, Qiao Xiaoguang, first Secretary of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Bai Shouzhang, a famous calligrapher, Wang Yaping, a famous poet, and Hu rulei, a famous historian.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, especially since the reform and opening up, schools have developed rapidly, the conditions for running schools have been improved, and the scale of running schools has expanded rapidly. The graduates of the school are all over the various fields of work in Xingtai. They have trained a large number of teachers for the basic education in Xingtai and trained batch after batch of specialized talents for the local economic and social development. It plays an important role in the field of education and economic and social development in Xingtai. In November 2000, Li Lanqing, former member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice premier of the State Council, visited the University; in July 2002, general Chi Haotian, former member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, visited the University. All of them fully affirmed the achievements made in the reform and development of the University. The school has been rated as a provincial civilized unit for many years.

In recent years, in accordance with the overall idea of "resource integration, centralized school running, out of debt predicament, and promoting the school to achieve new development in the new period", the school has grasped the development opportunity, actively won the support of Xingtai municipal Party committee and government, comprehensively strengthened the campus infrastructure, improved the campus environment, fundamentally improved the school running conditions, and made important achievements in all aspects of work. In the 12th Five Year Plan, the focus of the school's work has gradually shifted from the extension development to the connotation construction. It is strengthening the reform of the internal management system and operation mechanism to stimulate the internal development power of the school. It is close to the needs of local economic and social development, increasing the adjustment of the discipline structure, deepening the teaching reform, and constantly improving the school running level and teaching quality; We should adhere to the guiding principle of facing the needs of local economic and social development and promoting teaching, build scientific research platform, set up scientific research team, explore new modes of cooperation among industry, University and research, actively carry out applied research serving local areas, strengthen the construction of university culture, and give play to the leading role of cultural inheritance in regional economic and social development. The whole hospital is working hard according to the goal of "striving to build the university into an application-oriented local undergraduate university with distinctive characteristics" determined by the "Twelfth Five Year Plan"!

At present, the school covers a total area of 943.16 mu (another 758 Mu is reserved for development), with a building area of 338800 square meters, and more than 17000 students of ordinary undergraduate and junior college. The school library has 984000 books, 93.85 million yuan of equipment and more than 2.2 million kinds of e-books. The school has 1243 teaching staff, 916 teachers, including 360 professors and associate professors, 543 doctors and masters. The school has 18 secondary colleges (departments) and 76 specialties, covering nine disciplines of Arts, science, engineering, economics, law, management, history, education and art. The major of international economy and trade of the university has been evaluated as a national characteristic specialty construction point, a provincial talent cultivation innovation highland and a provincial comprehensive reform pilot project. Fine arts, international trade and accounting have been approved as provincial key development disciplines.
