Liaoning Economic Vocational and technical college is established on the basis of Liaoning Economic Management Cadre College. Founded in 1984, it is a provincial public higher vocational college approved by Liaoning Provincial People's government and registered by the Ministry of education. It is one of the first batch of 15 pilot colleges of Higher Vocational Education in Liaoning Province.
