Beijing Dance Academy

Beijing Dance Academy is the first Professional Dance Academy established in New China. Its predecessor, Beijing Dance School, was founded in 1954. In 1978, the Ministry of culture officially approved the school as Beijing Dance Academy, which is directly under the Ministry of culture. In 1999, he obtained the right to confer master's degree in dance science, and in 2005, he obtained the right to confer master's degree in art. In 2000, Beijing Dance Academy changed from directly under the Ministry of culture to "jointly built by the central government and Beijing Municipality, mainly managed by Beijing Municipality". In the same year, it was awarded the title of "civilized campus" by Beijing and the honorary title of "national advanced collective of cultural work" by the Ministry of culture and the Ministry of personnel.

The college has 214 full-time teachers, including 75 with senior titles. The total number of full-time college students is 1804, including 1175 undergraduates, 138 postgraduates and 491 students in the Institute of continuing education. In addition, there are nearly a thousand students in the attached middle school. At present, the academy has five majors: performance, choreography, choreography, drama, film and television art design, and public utilities management. It has nine departments (Chinese classical dance department, Chinese folk dance department, ballet department, Choreography Department, social dance department, musical department, art communication department, and art design department), and two departments (public foundation department and Music Department) and eleven teaching units A total of 18 professional directions. There are also colleges of continuing education, dance grading education management center, Youth Dance Troupe and secondary dance schools affiliated to the national key technical secondary schools. The college has the right to confer master's degree in dance, 36 research directions and master of Arts (MFA) training qualification.
