The predecessor of Zhejiang Economic and Trade Vocational and technical college is Zhejiang supply and marketing school founded in 1979. At the beginning of 2002, the provincial government approved the formal establishment of the college, which is a public university with the characteristics of "economy and trade" and the coordinated development of Arts, science, engineering, economics and management. The new campus is located in the east of Hangzhou Xiasha Higher Education Park, covering an area of 575 mu, with a construction area of 200000 square meters and a total value of 42279600 yuan of teaching equipment.

The college pays attention to the exploration and innovation of the talent training mode of combining work with study. It is now the "national economic and trade training base of Higher Vocational Education", "national skilled talents training base", "national practical teaching base of computer application and software design", "national business information technology training center" and "provincial demonstration practical teaching base of chain operation and management specialty" It has established "national vocational skill appraisal institute", "Zhejiang Business Vocational Education Group" and "Zhejiang Oriental Exhibition Industry Research Institute".

For more than 20 years since its establishment, the college has carried out the idea of running schools relying on industries, setting majors based on the market, and training skills based on the base, inherited the spirit of "Zheshang" and the motto of "respecting business by virtue", carried forward the "Zheshang culture", actively explored the talent training mode of "combining morality with ability, and integrating business with learning", and jointly implemented teaching through building education groups, sharing educational resources and jointly implementing teaching with enterprises And so on, improve the quality of personnel training, and achieved good results. Graduates are welcomed by employers. The one-time employment rate of 2005 graduates is 97.11%, that of 2006 graduates is 98.3%, and that of 2007 graduates is 98.05%. In September 2007, the college was identified as the excellent school of talent training level evaluation in higher vocational colleges.

The college has six departments, including Department of information technology, Department of international trade, Department of Finance and accounting, Department of Humanities and tourism, Department of business administration and Department of Applied Engineering, with a total of 29 majors. Among them, e-commerce and chain operation management are the key majors of provincial higher vocational education; computer application technology and software technology are the majors for training skilled talents determined by the Ministry of education and the Ministry of information industry; and international trade practice Marketing and accounting are the key majors of the Institute. There are nearly 8000 students on campus. The college has a teaching staff with reasonable knowledge structure, rich teaching experience and strong scientific research ability. Among them, 91 are professors and associate professors, and 10 are doctors. Most of the professional teachers have "double quality".

The college attaches great importance to international academic exchanges and cooperation, and cooperates with the University of Minnesota, Valparaiso University and shihoe School of economics in Germany.
