Shenyang Conservatory of music

Shenyang Conservatory of music is the only music and dance college with a long history and glorious tradition in Northeast China. The college originated from the Lu Xun art college founded in Yan'an by Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Lin Boqu, Xu Teli, Cheng Fangwu, Ai Siqi, Zhou Yang and other proletarian revolutionaries of the older generation in 1938. It was renamed Lu Xun Art College in 1940. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, the College moved from Yan'an to the northeast. At the end of 1948, it was located in Shenyang and renamed as the Northeast Lu Xun Literature and art college. In 1953, on the basis of the Music Department of the college, northeast music college was established. In 1958, it was officially renamed as Shenyang Conservatory of music, which enrolled students nationwide.

Since its establishment, the college has been developing and growing, and has initially formed a school running pattern with the main campus as the center and the south campus, Taoxian campus and Dalian campus as the support. The college has 12 departments of composition, musicology, vocal music, national vocal music, orchestra, piano, folk music, instrument technology, pop music, electronic organ, music education and dance, International Music Education Center, Art College (Adult Education College, vocational education college), affiliated secondary music school, affiliated secondary dance school and affiliated Dalian music and dance school. So far, the college has established a music and dance education system with undergraduate education as the main body, graduate education, secondary art education and other educational levels, and a relatively complete education structure with four in one of teaching, scientific research, creation and art practice.

The college has Music Research Institute, Northeast Asia Music Research Center and other scientific research and art research institutions; Yuefu Xinsheng (Journal of Shenyang Conservatory of Music) has been rated as "national excellent journal of Social Sciences"; the library has nearly 480000 books and audio-visual products, and has implemented computer network management, forming a full-functional Library of acquisition, cataloging, collection, retrieval, circulation and reading At the same time, an electronic reading room is added to realize the coordination and unification of printed literature and digital literature information. The college has successively set up art performance groups with students as the main body, such as Shenyang Conservatory of Music Youth Symphony Orchestra, Youth National Orchestra, Hongyun konghou Orchestra, youth Pop Orchestra, Youth Symphony Orchestra, cudgel game percussion Orchestra, Youth Chorus, etc.

The college attaches great importance to strengthening international music cultural exchanges and cooperation, and has established friendly relations with 69 art colleges and art groups abroad. Among them, it has signed friendly cooperation agreements with 19 high-level music colleges, including Stuttgart Conservatory of music in Germany, Eastman Conservatory of music in the United States and Tokyo Conservatory of music in Japan. Every year, the college employs many famous foreign musicians and scholars to give lectures or teach in the college, and also selects teachers and students to study abroad, give lectures and perform in a planned way.
