Shandong Institute of physical education is the only ordinary college of physical education in Shandong Province. It is a state-owned, full-time, multi-disciplinary university with physical education as the main subject and the combination of science, engineering, arts and economics. It is the center of physical education, sports training and sports scientific research in Shandong Province. It is responsible for the development of physical education in Shandong Province and the improvement of competitive sports training and competition as well as sports science and technology research services . At present, our college has four campuses: East Campus (No.65 Wenhua East Road, Jinan City), West Campus (No.2 and No.10 Wenhua West Road, Jinan City), new campus of Jinan City and Rizhao Campus (Shandong East Road, Rizhao City), with a total area of 1870 mu, a total area of 191400 square meters for teaching and administration, and complete basic facilities such as multimedia classrooms, computer classrooms and campus broadband network. It has 34 indoor gymnasiums and 37 outdoor training grounds, including 1 standard 50m swimming pool, 1 track and field field field and 5 large-scale comprehensive training halls with an investment of more than 10 million; 2 standard 400m plastic track and field fields, 3 artificial turf football fields and 28 outdoor tennis, basketball and volleyball fields. At present, the total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment is 51.3643 million yuan. Among them, the design and manufacturing level of three large-scale training equipment, including simulated training track, simulated low-pressure oxygen chamber and low oxygen tank, which are developed by our institute and have independent intellectual property rights, has reached the international advanced level and filled the domestic blank. There are 566500 Chinese and foreign books, 666 Chinese and foreign periodicals and 160000 e-books in the library.

At present, there are 1079 teaching staff, including 688 teaching, training and scientific research personnel, 61 senior professional and technical personnel, 236 deputy senior professional and technical personnel, 15 doctors, 156 masters and 78 teachers above master level. There are 1 member of the sports subject evaluation group of the 4th Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, 2 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions in Shandong Province, 7 national excellent teachers, 5 provincial excellent teachers, 2 doctoral supervisors and 48 master supervisors. On February 3, 2008, the college was approved to set up the post of "Taishan scholar" in physical education and training.

The undergraduate education of our college has 18 majors, including physical education, sports training, national traditional sports, social sports, sports human science, public utilities management, special education, dance science, English, modern educational technology, computer science and technology, applied psychology, economics, sports performance, sports rehabilitation and health, journalism, broadcasting and hosting and leisure sports Cover education, literature, science, engineering, economics, management 6 university disciplines. Master's degree education has four master's programs of sports human science, sports education and training, sports humanities and sociology, and national traditional sports. It is the first batch of pilot units for Cultivating Master's degree of physical education in China (the only one in the province at present). The doctoral students are jointly trained. There are two research directions of water sports equipment and physical education and training.

At present, there are 10302 full-time students in our college, including 116 graduate students, 6741 undergraduate students, 2441 five-year junior college students and 1004 ordinary secondary school students. In addition, there are 91 postgraduates and 543 correspondence students. In 2008, the actual expenditure of the four teaching funds accounted for more than 30% of the tuition income, and the quality of personnel training and education and teaching can be guaranteed.
