[plant morphology] Tripterygium hypoglaucum

Deciduous climbing shrub, 2-3 m high. Branchlets reddish brown, angular, verrucose, sparsely pubescent or glabrous. Single leaf alternate, ovate or long ovate, 6-12 cm long, 3-6 cm wide, apex sharp, margin serrate, upper green, lower pink white, lateral veins 6-7 pairs, protruding on both sides; petiole about 1 cm long, brown pubescent. Flowers small, white, terminal panicle; sepals 5; petals 5; stamens 5, inserted on the edge of disk; ovary superior, 3-angled, 3-locular, with 2 ovules in each locule.

In sunny shrubs or open forests. It is distributed in Yunnan, Sichuan, Guangxi, Hunan, Zhejiang and Jiangxi.
