Strong perennial herbs. The root is woody, oblong conic and coarser. The root leaves have long stalks; the leaves are ovate heart-shaped, about 10.5 cm long and 9.5 cm wide, red above and slightly undulate at the margin. Panicle terminal, arranged closely, flowers small, green white. Achene with three edges, wing along the edge.

It grows under the forest on the slope of alpine mountain area. It is distributed in Yunnan and other places.
