Annual herb with white milk. Stems prostrate, much branched, slightly hairy, less than 15 cm tall, usually red. Leaves opposite, elliptic to oblong, 4-6 mm long, rarely up to 8 mm wide, 2-4 mm wide, apex obtuse, base oblique and truncate, margin slightly serrate, dark green above, light green below, grayish white; petiole very short; stipules small, on the basal side of petiole.
