[plant morphology] clover

Perennial herbs, 50-80 cm high. Root cylindrical, endoplasmic, surface reddish brown. Stem smooth, gray green surface, with fine longitudinal lines. The leaf blade is elliptic or oblong, 8-18 cm long and 2-9 cm wide, apex acuminate, base cuneate, entire or microwave-shaped; petiole about 5 mm long, with longitudinal groove above. Raceme lateral on stem; flowers yellow, ca. 1 cm in diameter; calyx 5-lobed, lobes lanceolate; corolla 5-lobed, lobes about 6 mm long; stamen 6, filaments very short, anther base inserted, sagittate; pistil 1, style linear, stigma capitate or truncate, apex with brown spots, ovary superior. Fruit globose, ca. 4 mm in diam., base with persistent calyx. The seeds are small and brownish red. The flowering period is from May to June.

It grows in moist weeds and shrubs on hillsides. It is distributed in Yunnan, Guangxi and other places.
