① Red straight beard

It is a thick fine branch root. Generally more than 10 cm long, brown red. There are longitudinal wrinkles and fibrous root peeling marks on the body surface, and a few cork peeling phenomenon. The section is brown red, flat, round, and the edge is curved into waves. The quality is firm and crisp. It is fragrant and bitter.

② White Straight beard

It is a thick and long branch root. The character is the same as red straight beard, but the surface is yellow white. Most of them have no skin. The section is white.

③ Red curved beard

They are brownish red fine branched roots and fibrous roots with different lengths and thicknesses. It is crisp in quality and bitter in taste.

④ White curved beard

Most of them are fibrous roots, often in the shape of cakes. It is yellow white and has the same character as red curved beard.
