[plant morphology] Erigeron canadensis

Annual herbs, 30-120 cm high, all green, with exfoliative hairs. The upper part is much branched and the branchlets are weak. Basal leaves nearly spatulate, 7-10 cm long, 1-1.5 cm wide, margin serrate or entire, ciliate; upper leaves linear or linear lanceolate. Inflorescences capitate, ca. 5 mm in diam., long petiolate, arranged in panicles; involucre hemispherical, ca. 4 mm long; bracts linear; marginal lingual flowers white, tiny, female; central tubular flowers yellow, bisexual, apex 5-lobed. Achene flat, slightly hairy, ca. 1. 5 mm, corolla ca. 4 mm. It blooms in autumn.

Born in the field, roadside. It is distributed in North China, East China and South China.
