Subshrub, 30-80 cm high. Stem erect, square, angulate, with deep pits between the edges, pubescent. Leaves opposite, long ovate, 5.5-11.5 cm long and 2-5 cm wide, apex acuminate, base rounded, margin shallowly serrate, both sides covered with short hairs, veins densely hairy; petiole 3-8 cm long. Cymose, with several flowers, lip shaped: calyx bell shaped, 5-toothed, corolla yellow, covered with fine pubescence. 4 nuts.

Most of them live in the shade of mountains and forests. It is distributed in southwest, Central South and Taiwan.
