[plant morphology] chinchilla glabripennis

Small evergreen shrubs. Stolon long, stem sparsely branched, oblique, densely covered with reddish brown long hairs. Leaves 3-5 in whorls, ovate or ovate, long elliptic, 2-6 cm long and 1.5-3 cm wide, apex slightly pointed, base cuneate, margin coarsely serrated, with spikelets and long hairs on both sides; petiole 5-10 mm long, densely hairy. Cymes in axils of scaly leaves, 2-3 cm long, covered with long hairs and pubescence; flowers 2-4; pedicels 7-12 mm long; calyx lobed lanceolate, acute; corolla reddish or white, 6-7 mm in diameter; stamens 5, filaments short; pistils 1, ovary globose. Berry red, 5-6 mm in diameter. It blooms in summer.

It is distributed in Southeast China, Guangxi and Guizhou.
