[source] it is the tender stems and leaves of rhamniaceae.

Rat ear

Rattan shrub, 1-4 m high. Branchlets hairy. Leaves alternate, shortly stipitate, ovate or suborbicular, 5-10 mm long, apex obtuse and punctate, base rounded or microcordate, margin entire, papery, dark green above, pale below, 5 pairs of lateral veins, straight and parallel. Flowers bisexual or polygamous, 2 or more clustered in leaf axils or at the top of branches, with short stalks 3-6 mm long; sepals 5, 2-3 mm long, narrowly lanceolate or linear; petals 5, linear lanceolate; stamens 5, sometimes 6; ovary superior, 2-locular. Fruit fleshy, long ovoid, 4-6 mm long, purple when ripe. It blooms in autumn.

It grows in mountains, low forests or weeds, roadsides, slopes and hills. It is distributed in the south of China.
