Annual erect herb, 60-100 cm high, densely pilose, few branched, leaves alternate, with short stalks; elliptic lanceolate, 3.5-8 cm long, 1-3 cm wide, apex acuminate, base cuneate, margin sharply serrate, both sides densely pilose. The inflorescences are numerous, arranged in leafy panicles; each petiole has a pair of inflorescences; involucre is tubular, bracts 3-4 rows. Purplish red, outer layer very short; flowers all tubular, lavender; corolla white.

It grows on grass slope. Distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangdong and other places.
