Guiyang College of traditional Chinese medicine, founded in 1965, is located in Guiyang City, the capital of Guizhou Province. It is the only higher institution of traditional Chinese medicine in Guizhou Province. Since the reform and opening up, the college has seized the opportunity, on the basis of paying close attention to the discipline construction, on the one hand, it has expanded the scale of running the school, on the other hand, it has adjusted the professional structure, and achieved remarkable results in the coordinated development of "scale", "structure", "quality" and "efficiency". In 2006, with the approval of the people's Government of Guizhou Province, our college was listed as "provincial key support construction university". In November 2007, the Ministry of education's undergraduate teaching level evaluation expert group visited the University and got excellent results.

The college has two campuses, South and North. The north campus is located on the Bank of the beautiful Nanming River and in front of Jiaxiu building; the south campus is surrounded by changpoling forest farm, which is known as the "lung of the forest" of Guiyang City, and is a good place to study. After years of construction, our teaching and administrative rooms, teaching and scientific research equipment, library collection, sports facilities and other conditions have better met the needs. The construction of "Digital Campus" has been started, and the campus network covers the whole hospital.

At present, the college has 12 colleges and departments, including basic department, pharmacy department, first Department of clinical medicine, Second Department of clinical medicine, Department of orthopedics and traumatology, Department of acupuncture and massage, Department of nursing, Department of medical humanities, vocational and technical college, Department of Social Sciences, Department of foreign language teaching and Department of sports. There are 10 scientific research institutions such as Institute of traditional Chinese medicine, Institute of traditional Chinese medicine and Institute of ethnic medicine. There are 2 Provincial TCM engineering centers and 1 provincial key laboratory. The two affiliated hospitals are grade III a traditional Chinese medicine hospitals. The First Affiliated Hospital is "the national orthopedic doctor training base of the Ministry of health" and "the clinical drug testing institution of the State Food and Drug Administration", and the Second Affiliated Hospital is "the key construction Hospital of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine of the State Administration of traditional Chinese medicine". In addition, there are 4 non affiliated hospitals, 12 clinical teaching (practice) hospitals and 38 non-medical professional practice bases.

At present, the college has 22 undergraduate majors and directions in traditional Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. There are "National Administration of traditional Chinese medicine" and 7 provincial and ministerial key disciplines. There are 3 key specialties (diseases) of the State Administration of traditional Chinese medicine, and 4 key specialties (diseases) of the State Administration of traditional Chinese medicine. As one of the first batch of master's degree awarding units in China, our college has been training master's degree postgraduates since 1978, and now has 14 master's degree awarding centers. With the approval of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, it became a pilot unit to carry out the training of master's degree in clinical medicine in 2003. In 2004, it was approved to carry out the work of awarding in-service personnel to apply for master's degree with the same academic level as graduate students.

The college enrolls students from all over the country. There are 5991 full-time students, including 5079 undergraduates and 463 postgraduates. Over the past 42 years, more than 17000 higher TCM talents have been trained.

The college has 793 staff, including 214 with senior titles. Among them, there are 139 professors and associate professors. At present, the college has 14 government special subsidy experts, 4 provincial management experts, 24 national veteran TCM pharmacists, 2 national famous orthopedics and traumatology teachers, 4 provincial teaching teachers, 246 master tutors and 3 doctoral tutors.

Since the 10th five year plan, our college has won more than 10 national and provincial teaching achievement awards, 10 provincial excellent courses, 4 provincial model undergraduate majors, and 37 national textbooks. The college has undertaken (participated in) 908 research projects at all levels. It has won 37 awards for various scientific research achievements, developed and participated in the research and development of 53 new Chinese medicine drugs, and 134 technology transfer and technical services.

We have actively carried out foreign exchanges and cooperation, and established cooperative relations with universities and scientific research institutions in the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and other countries, as well as in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

In the past 42 years, the college has conscientiously implemented the party's education policy, adhered to the school motto of "virtue, ambition, learning and practice", adhered to the educational philosophy of "development first, quality-oriented, innovation as the source, talent cultivation as the use", took the cultivation of higher Chinese Medicine talents as its own responsibility, carried out the reform, construction and development simultaneously, and took the road of connotation development, and achieved remarkable results. In the new historical development stage, in order to further implement the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education and meet the needs of Guizhou's economic construction and social development, according to the new requirements of the 17th CPC National Congress for the development of higher education, the college will take the discipline construction and talent construction as the leader, strengthen scientific research and medical work, continuously improve the quality of education and teaching, further comprehensively improve the strength and level of running a school, and make great efforts To serve economic construction and social development.
