Small shrubs, many branched, bald. Leaves small, sub leathery, obovate or oblong, 6-10 mm long, apex rounded, base obtuse or cuneate, entire; stipules minute, ciliate. Flowers unisexual, dioecious, 1-3 clustered in axils; female flowers petiolate, petiole 4-6 mm long, male petiole shorter; sepals 6, broadly ovate, obtuse, ca. 2 mm long, male flowers shorter; anthers 3, long elliptic, filaments united to form a thick stele. Capsule oblate, ca. 5 mm in diam. Seeds ca. 2 mm long, testa orange red. The flowering period is April.

Born in the wild and under the forest. It is distributed in the south of China.

Functions and indications: clearing away dampness and heat, detoxifying and eliminating accumulation. It is used to treat diarrhea, dysentery, Wulin, white turbidity, infantile fever, infantile decayed head sores, skin dampness and scabies.
