[plant morphology] Curculigo grandiflora, also known as Songlan, bamboo ganoderma, rock brown.

Perennial herbs. Rhizome massive, thick. The leaf root is long petiole, oblong lanceolate, 30-90 cm long and 7-15 cm wide, folded with veins, entire, bald or hairy on dorsal veins; the petiole is 30-60 cm long and grooved. Stems usually shorter than leaves, 10-30 cm long, covered with long brown hairs, apex bent down; bracts lanceolate, covered with long hairs; capitulum or spike drooping, ovate or spherical, 2.5-5 cm in diameter; flowers petiolate; perianth lobes ovate, 6-8 mm long, covered with hairs; stamens 6, inserted at the base of perianth, filaments short; ovary 3-locular, rod-shaped, 3-6 mm long, style short, stigma 3 , upright. Capsule clavate, 3-6 mm long, 3-valved at maturity, with many seeds inside. The seeds are very small and nearly spherical. The flowering period is summer and moon.

Born in the wild or cultivated in the house, like the growth of wetlands. It is distributed from southwest to southeast of China, especially in the south.

The rhizome is massive and fleshy, with prominent nodes, round punctate fibrous root mark and residual leaf mark at the top. Hard, not easy to break. The cross section is white and the central column is prominent.

[clinical application] treatment of chronic tracheitis

Take the rhizome of Ganoderma lucidum to make honey pill or tablet for oral administration. Each pill weighs 3 yuan (including 1.5 yuan of honey), 3 times a day, 1-2 pills each time; each tablet is 0.5g, 3 times a day, 8 tablets each time. All patients were treated for 10 days. After a course of treatment, 120 cases (34.2%) were clinically controlled, 165 cases (47%) were markedly effective, 58 cases (16.5%) were improved, and 9 cases (2.3%) were ineffective.
