Morphology of Potentilla

Perennial herbs, 15-40 cm high, all with white villous. The root is thick, dark brown, with a few branched roots. Stem erect, branched. The basal leaves are odd pinnate compound, with 5-7 leaflets, which are oblong obovate to oblong, 1-2 cm long and 5-10 mm wide. The apex is truncated, the base is cuneate, the lateral leaflets are oblique, the edge is irregularly serrated, the apex has a tip, the top is densely covered with pubescence, the bottom is white, and the lower two leaflets are very small and far away; the petiole is 4-9 cm long. The petiole of stem is short. Cyme, 3-5 yellow flowers, 1.5-2 cm in diameter; petals 5, broad obovate, 7-8 mm long, apex emarginate. Achenes ovate, ca. 0. 5 mm long, brownish yellow.

Born on the hillside and wilderness. It is distributed in Yunnan and Sichuan.
