Herbs perennial, root like. Underground stem massive, stout. The aerial stem is erect with Tricholoma at the top. Leaf 1 or 2, terminal, shield shaped, round, 20-30 cm in diameter, margin 3-8-lobed, lobes triangular ovate, apex short pointed, margin with teeth of different sizes, tooth tip with small protrusions, surface green, glabrous, back light green, main vein from the center of the leaf, straight to the tip of the blade tip, petiole 10-15 cm long. From May to June, it blooms at the junction of the stem top and leaves, with 5-8 flowers in umbels; 6 calyx, elliptic, about 1.2 cm long; 6 petals, obovate, about 2 cm long, free; 6 stamens, inserted on the disk, filamentous, 0.2-0.3 cm long, anthers linear, slightly curved, about 1 cm long; 1 pistil, ovary superior, conical, stigma capitate; pedicel, about 3 cm long Cm, densely yellow pubescent. Berry, ovoid, black, containing many seeds.

It grows on the hillside and valley in the shade and wet place under the miscellaneous woods. It is distributed in Hunan and other places.

② To cure the pain of the whole body, spend more money on star anise, four Liang hemp and five cents on snow arrow, and take them with warm wine.

③ Treatment of swelling and toxin: star anise with brown sugar or distiller's grains, mashed and applied, twice a day.

④ Treatment of snake bite: Illicium multiflorum, mash and apply to the affected area; or rub water on the affected area.

⑤ Treatment of scrofula: 1 to 2 liang of star anise, 2 liang of yellow rice wine, add water, decoct.
