[plant morphology] Viola villosa, also known as Viola cones.

Perennial herbs. The taproot is thick and long. Both leaves and pedicels root out. The leaves are heart-shaped or even slightly round in size, 2-5 cm in length and 2.5-6 cm in width. The apex is obtuse, the base is concave, the margin is shallowly serrate, and two faces are covered with setae. The petiole is 3-20 cm long, with inverted setae. The stipules are membranous, and the margin is covered with setae. Pedicel 4-9 cm long, with 2 linear bracteoles in the middle, with obfuscate hairs; flower lilac, calyx 5, elliptic, apex obtuse, base and margin slightly hairy; petal 5, obovate, flower spur short, about 3 mm long; stamen 5, 2 nectary appendages below, extending into flower spur; ovary superior, hairy, stigma curved, undivided. Capsule subglobose, ca. 8 mm, hairy. The flowering period is April. The fruit ripens in July.

It grows in shady wetland. It is distributed in the East and southwest of China.
