Located at the Bank of Lugou Bridge in Beijing, the Armored Forces Engineering College is one of the key engineering colleges in China and one of the 12 comprehensive colleges of the whole army. The predecessor of the college is the Armored Force Engineering Department of Harbin military engineering college. It was expanded into the Armored Force Engineering College in Xi'an in 1961, and moved to Beijing in 1969. It is the highest Academy of our army to train engineering and technical officers and command officers of armored mechanized forces.

Covering an area of more than 3700 mu, the college has a modern library and electronic reading room, and has established online retrieval with large-scale library and reference centers such as the Internet, Beijing Library and science and Technology Information Institute of the headquarters. There are nearly 200 laboratories, workshops and 7 large professional training grounds. The first campus network supported by Gigabit Ethernet has been built. Students can connect with the Internet through the campus network.

Starting from undergraduate education, the college trains three levels of students: undergraduate, master and doctoral students, and trains military and civilian two-way choice students and foreign military students. It is mainly for the whole army to train command officers of armored mechanized forces and all kinds of engineering and technical officers with military commander quality. The training mode is divided into four-year engineering undergraduate and five-year double bachelor undergraduate. At present, the college has 9 undergraduate enrollment majors, 15 master's programs and 3 doctoral programs. It is one of the few colleges in the army that can confer master's degrees in engineering, science, management, military science and philosophy.

The college has a high-quality and high-level faculty. Among them, there are 1 academician of Chinese Academy of engineering, 3 national excellent teachers, 9 military excellent teachers, 17 doctoral supervisors and 3 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions.

In accordance with the general requirements of "qualified in politics, excellent in military, fine in style, strict in discipline and strong in guarantee", the college pays attention to improving the teaching quality and constantly optimizing the teaching environment. In recent years, our college students have achieved excellent results in the competitions of mathematics, physics, English and other subjects in Colleges and universities in Beijing. Over the past 40 years, the college has trained nearly 20000 engineering and technical officers and command officers for the armored mechanized forces of our army. These graduates have become the backbone of the modernization construction of the armored mechanized forces of our army.
