Anhui electromechanical vocational and technical college is one of the first batch of national backbone higher vocational colleges project construction units. Founded in 1935, Anhui Wuhu private Neisi vocational school is one of the earliest vocational education schools in China. After liberation, it was renamed Wuhu Industrial School of Southern Anhui District, under the leadership of Anhui industry department, and later renamed Wuhu electric power school, Wuhu electrical machinery manufacturing school (Wuhu electrical school for short), Wuhu electrical machinery manufacturing college, etc., which was under the leadership of the first Ministry of mechanical industry of China; in 1958, the major of mechanical manufacturing moved to Hefei to establish Anhui Institute of Technology (now incorporated into Hefei University of Technology). In September 1972, under the leadership of Anhui machinery department, it was renamed Anhui Wuhu machinery school. In December 1978, with the approval of the State Council, Anhui mechanical and electrical College (undergraduate, now renamed as Anhui Engineering University) was established on the basis of Anhui Wuhu Mechanical School. In June 1986, Anhui mechanical and electrical College moved out, and Anhui Provincial People's government decided to restore Anhui Wuhu Mechanical School at the original site under the leadership of Anhui Provincial Department of machinery. In June 2003, with the approval of Anhui Provincial People's government, Anhui Wuhu Mechanical School was upgraded to Anhui electromechanical vocational and technical college.

The college has 10 teaching units, including Department of mechanical engineering, Department of electrical engineering, Department of information engineering, Department of numerical control engineering, Department of automotive engineering, Department of Humanities and management, teaching department of Ideological and political theory, basic teaching department, Department of physical education, Department of adult teaching (training), and 39 specialties, including 3 national backbone construction specialties and 2 National Machinery Industry skilled personnel training specialty There are five provincial demonstration specialties, six provincial characteristic specialties, two provincial comprehensive reform pilot specialties and one provincial education reform demonstration specialty. There are 2 provincial famous teachers, 12 provincial professional leaders, 3 provincial teaching teams, 4 provincial teaching rookies, 22 college level professional leaders, 59 young and middle-aged backbone teachers and 49 College level teaching rookies. The college also employs more than 200 industry and enterprise senior technical experts and craftsmen as part-time teachers.
