Leaves opposite, oblong to elliptic lanceolate, pubescent on the top, slightly rough when old, densely covered with gray white hairs on the bottom, inconspicuous golden glandular spots on both sides, cymes 5-7 times divergent, total pedicel 2-4cm long; calyx 4-toothed, stellate pilose; corolla purple, tubular, apex 4-lobed, slightly hairy; stamens 4; ovary superior, 4-locular. Berry shaped drupe, small globose, glandular, purplish red when ripe. It blooms in summer.

It grows on hillside, roadside and sparse forest. Produced in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou.
