Nu nationality is a unique ancient nationality in Nujiang area of Yunnan Province. It mainly lives in Gongshan Dulong Nu Autonomous County, Fugong County and Lanping Bai Pumi Autonomous County of Nujiang Prefecture of Yunnan Province. It is the earliest indigenous nationality living in Nujiang and one of the minority nationalities with small population in China. There are four branches of Nu Nationality: Nu Su, a long, a nu, and Rao rou. It is mainly distributed in Fugong and Gongshan of Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture and tu'e township of Lanping County. In addition, Weixi County of Diqing Prefecture also has a small amount of distribution. Because of long-term relationship with Lisu People, Nu people generally speak Lisu language.
