Uruwati Scenic Area

Uruwati Scenic Area is located in the upper reaches of Karakash River at the southern foot of Kunlun Mountains and in the territory of Langruxiang, Hetian County. It is 71 kilometers away from Hetian City. In December 2007, it was awarded National AAA Tourist Scenic Spot. On December 29, 2011, Uruwati Scenic Area met the standards and requirements of national AAAA-level tourist attractions and was approved as national AAAA-level tourist attractions.

Introduction to scenic spots

Uruwati Water Control Project is a large regulating reservoir with multiple benefits such as irrigation, flood control, power generation, fish culture, ecological protection and tourism. Known as the "Kunlun Small Three Gorges", the reservoir water reaches 110 meters deepest and the dam height of the reservoir is 131.8 meters. It is the highest dam of the same type in China, the fourth in the world and the second in Asia. The total storage capacity is 347 million cubic meters. The installed capacity is 60,000 kW and the annual power generation capacity is 8.9 billion degrees. The construction of the reservoir is a key national water conservancy project, with an investment of 1.26 billion yuan. It began in August 1993 and was completed in 2001 and integrated into the Hekou power grid. There are several small islands in the south of the reservoir area, on which there are many plants, such as grey cranes, wild ducks, geese and other birds paradise; around the reservoir area, surrounded by dry and denuded low mountains, tall and straight, strange shape, the long-term view of "silver-coated, the original wax elephant" Mangkunlun style; near the blue lake, clear water, Lake reflection, beautiful scenery, is the only "green" in China. The beautiful environment around the reservoir is a good place for summer vacation, cool weather, swimming, fishing, boating and sightseeing.

Tourist attractions have been built: Dam, Solong Bridge, Dam Night Scene, Spillway, Yulong Dam Fallfall, Power Plant Workshop and Trestle Road, Qishi Museum, Engineering Construction and Education Photo Gallery, Garden District, Leisure Park, Watershed Model, Kunlun Cultural Wall, Artificial Hill, Elephant Trunk Hill, Weishi Beach, Kunlun Eighteen Bay, Small Canyon, Hongliu Beach, etc. Tourism services include: Kahe River sightseeing in the reservoir area, exploration at the source of the Kahe River, drifting, swimming, fishing, water sightseeing and so on.
