Neijiang ten sages
Ten sages are outstanding representatives of historical figures in Neijiang, which are described as "one division, two phases, three number one scholars and four great masters";
The first division: Chang Hong (the teacher of Confucius);
Second phase: Zhao Xiong (anti Jin Mingxiang), Zhao Zhenji (wenyuange old man);
Three top scholars: fan chongkai (Bashu zhuangkui), Zhao Kui (son of heaven's disciple), Luo Chengli (number one scholar in Qing Dynasty);
Four masters: Zhang xuetongzui (a famous monk), Yu Peilun (martyr of 1911), Zhang Daqian (Master of Chinese painting), Fan Changjiang (news giant).
Anecdotes of ten sages
As the name suggests, there are ten sages, but there are eleven. There are two in one of the statues, which are introduced as "masters of Chinese painting" - Zhang ShanMa and Zhang Daqian Kunzhong. Zhang ShanMa is Zhang Daqian's second brother. He was once famous in Chinese painting because he was good at drawing tigers. The two brothers jointly founded the "wind hall" painting school. At first, the Zhang brothers occupied two positions among the "four masters" of the "ten sages". However, some people think that the "ten sages" should be "master Zhangxue". He rebuilt Zhaojue temple in Chengdu and established Shengshui temple in Neijiang, which represented the profound Buddhist culture in Neijiang. After repeated discussions, Zhang ShanMa and Zhang Daqian were decided to add Zhangxue, and Zhang ShanMa and Zhang Daqian were "integrated" as the common representatives of the "hometown of calligraphy and painting". As a result, the unique landscape of ten sages and eleven people appeared.
