The water system in Yibin belongs to the external water system, with the Yangtze River as the main vein, with many rivers, high density and abundant water. Jinsha River and Minjiang River join to form the Yangtze River, which runs through the northern part of the city. There are more than 600 tributaries of the three rivers. Wenxing River, Nanguang River, Changning River, Hengjiang River, Xining River, Huangsha River, Yuexi River, Jianban River and Gusong River have drainage areas of more than 500 square kilometers. There are 21 rivers with a drainage area of 100-500 square kilometers and 23 small rivers with a drainage area of 50 square kilometers to 100 square kilometers. The tributaries, streams and rivers of the three rivers are distributed in an asymmetric river network from north to South or from south to north. The southern tributaries are mostly originated from high mountains and mountains, so the beaches are abundant and the water is rapid; the tributaries in the North mostly originate from hills, so the water potential is gentle and the bank is open.
