Chaohu Folk Song, the local traditional music of Chaohu City, Anhui Province, is one of the national intangible cultural heritage.

On May 20, 2006, Chaohu Folk Songs were approved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage lists. Number: II-6.

historical origin

Chaohu City is located in the middle of Anhui Province, surrounded by the Jianjiang River and lake. It has the site of "Hexian ape man" 3.4 million years ago, which proves that it was once one of the birthplaces of Chinese culture. Folk songs of Chaohu Lake, accompanied by the ancient history of Chaohu Lake, have undergone a simple and complex, single and diverse evolution process, and have been sung to this day.

In October 2010, Juchao District held the 9th Chaohu Folk Song Concert - "Renpu Cup" Juchao Folk Song Concert and the 61st Anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Through this concert, the purpose of the concert is to vigorously inherit the Neighbor Folk Song, explore new works, let the Neighbor Folk Song develop in inheritance and development, and further promote the rapid development of Chaohu Folk Song.

In March 2013, the Chaohu Municipal People's Government set up the Chaohu Folk Songs Research Institute in Chaohu, which absorbed a group of old, middle-aged and young literary and artistic workers and experts who sang and studied Chaohu Folk Songs.

Important activities

On the evening of November 7, 2017, Chaohu Folk Song Concert, one of the sub-activities of Hefei Branch of Shanghai International Art Festival of China, sang at Hefei Theatre. At the concert, Chaohu Folk Song's provincial inheritor Li Jialian and male singer Lei Yujun sang "Green Wave Rolling in" was adapted from Chaohu traditional Yangko, which was exuberant and full of passion.

Honorary commendation

On November 8, 2017, the newly created Chaohu folk song "Famous Towns, Colorful Sangbing", composed by Huang Dongsong and Huang Dapeng, was on the "Chinese Voice Music Rank".

On November 22, 2017, the new folk song "Happy Rainy Season" won the third prize of variety Arts in the third joint exhibition competition of Hefei Private Academy of Arts and Arts.
