Early experience
Gong Ci'en was born on September 17, 1963. Her parents are Christians. Her name comes from the meaning of compassion and grace in Christian doctrine. Gong Ci'en's father is an accountant, and her mother works behind the scenes in the TV station. She is the only child in her family and has loved singing and dancing since childhood. After graduating from middle school, Gong became a piano teacher in a piano business. It happened that the boss of Gong Ci'en, the host of a children's program "banana boat" of RTHK's Television Department, strongly recommended her to run for the election, winning the bid at one stroke, and Gong Ci'en stepped into the entertainment industry.
In 1984, Gong applied for the first stage of wireless arts training class and became a member of the group.
Acting experience
In 1984, Gong Ci'en took part in Qiu Jin, a TV play starring Wang Mingquan, as Qiu Jin's classmate; in the same year, he played Hua Zhen Zhen in the ancient costume martial arts TV play the legend of Chu LiuXiang's bat, starring Miao Qiaowei and Weng Meiling.
In May 1985, he played "greater Hong Kong" with Chow Yun fat and Kwan Li Jie, playing the heroine Shu Wei; in September of the same year, he played Yang Si Niang in the TVB drama "Yang Jia Jiang".
In 1988, she took part in the TV series "Flying Tiger heroes", playing the dancer Rita who sneaked into Hong Kong from the mainland, and having an emotional relationship with the gangster brother Liu CHUANHENG played by Guan Lijie.
In 1990, Gong Ci'en went to Changchun, China, to shoot Jin Yong's martial arts drama "flying fox on snow mountain". He played two roles, Cheng lingsu and xuexue'er.

In 1997, Gong Ci'en took over the shooting of ATV martial arts drama "snow sword", playing Nie Xiaofeng.
In February 2010, the sitcom TV series "with red roof and white big three yuan" was broadcast on Jiangsu variety channel, playing Ma Linglong.
At the beginning of 2012, he became a guest star in Shao's new year's film "I love Hong Kong in 2012". In the same year, he joined Hong Kong TV HKTV of Wang Weiqi.

Gong Ci'en got married in 1999. Her husband is Lin Wei, a Taiwanese actor. She has a son and a daughter. In September 2019, she admitted that she had already separated and was divorced.

On May 14, 2006, Gong Ci'en, Li Yilang (Don), Jiang Yawen (mandy), Deng Yingzhi and others attended the "big reward for trendy mothers in the Linghui World Cup".
