Wuqi Town, located in the middle of Wuqi County, is the political, economic, transportation and cultural center of the county. It is 25 kilometers wide from east to west and 30 kilometers long from north to south, with a total area of 383.7 square kilometers. From generation to generation, Wu Qi was named after general Wu Qi of the state of Wei (about 400 years ago). In 1935, the long march of the Central Red Army led by Mao Zedong arrived in Northern Shaanxi. Wuqi town became the foothold of the long march and became famous both at home and abroad.

Wuqi town governs 18 administrative villages, 105 villager groups and 6 neighborhood committees, with a total population of 28783. Wuqi town is located on both sides of the Luohe River, at the mouth of seven big rivers (ningsaichuan, erdaochuan, luanshitoichuan, Toudaochuan, Sandaochuan, yangqingchuan, zhukechuan). The highest mountain elevation is 1663.5 meters, and the lowest valley elevation is 1247 meters. The terrain inclines to Luohe River, with wide valley and long beam. The town has 32000 mu of arable land, including 14000 mu of chuantai and dam land (780 mu of irrigated land) and 8000 mu of effective irrigation area. It is the main base of grain and vegetable production in the county, and the intensive processing of agricultural products has a good development prospect.
