Wanxia Lake National Water Conservancy Scenic Spot is located in Jiangxi town, 5 km west of Xihe County, Gansu Province. Originally a comprehensive reservoir for flood control, water storage, irrigation and fish culture, it is now a scenic spot integrating flood control, irrigation, power generation, fish culture, tourism and other comprehensive development.

General situation

Wanxia lake is located in Jiangxi town, 5km west of Xihe county. It is one of the ten key tourist attractions in Longnan City. It belongs to the Yangtze River Basin, Jialing River system, Western Han River Basin and the lower reaches of Jiangxi River, a tributary of Yangshui river. Water is what Li Daoyuan called Jian'an water in shuijingzhu Yangshui. The main venue of the first Xihe Qiuchi folk song culture and art festival in 2006 was also set up here. The reservoir is the largest in Southeast Gansu. It is also a famous high mountain reservoir in Gansu Province with beautiful scenery and convenient transportation. In 2008, Wanxia Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Spot was approved by the water conservancy scenic spot evaluation committee of the Ministry of water resources of the people's Republic of China as "National Water Conservancy Scenic Spot".

Now it has been rated as national AAAA tourist attraction.

In 2003, 10.16 million yuan was invested by the state to reinforce the reservoir, pave hardened pebble sidewalks, build memorial archways, sunset wharf, sunset wharf and huwan wharf, and plant ornamental economic fruits and garden flower seedlings such as peach, apricot, pear, walnut, and golden willow in the farmland around the lake. The current reservoir capacity is 10.35 million cubic meters, and the water area is 1800 mu. Surrounded by mountains, the reservoir is green and undulating. Fish swim and shrimp play in the reservoir. The water is singing and swallows dance. The white waterfall at Laohukou is suspended and flowing, which is magnificent. The good natural resources and cultural landscape around the reservoir create favorable conditions for sightseeing and tourism. Because Xihe is the birthplace of Qiqiao culture, various activities with strong traditional flavor will be held in Wanxia reservoir on Qixi every year.

As early as the 1970s, the cultural, sports and art circles of Gansu Province held a commemorative activity of Chairman Mao's tour of the Yangtze River in Wanxia lake. Since the 1980s, a group of hot-blooded young people from a local Literary Association have launched a one-day tour of Wanxia lake for many years. Nowadays, the sunset lake is lively again. Every day, there are all kinds of cars parked in the sightseeing road around the lake. Occasionally, some senior political officials and international friends are here to look at the lake and draw pictures. Some famous people from cultural circles inside and outside the province come to the lake for gathering, sightseeing and gathering. The photographers are even more proud of the master of Danqing.

Today, the annual "Chinese folk Qiqiao culture and Art Festival" large-scale economic and cultural activities make the sunset Lake icing on the cake, brilliant and famous in China. At the beginning of the seventh month of the lunar calendar, it becomes an open-air stage for thousands of Qiqiao girls to sing and dance and compete with each other for their youth. At this time, visitors can enjoy the unique intangible cultural heritage in China -- Qiqiao cultural and artistic activities. There are yachts, steamboats and assault boats on the lake. As long as the tourists are willing, those beautiful and passionate female boatmans can set sail at any time. All the boats sitting here should be on the red boat of South Lake to feel the sacred and glory. You can also jump into the water to learn frog's dancing shoes and roam freely.
