Wang Zongyao
Wang Zongyao was born in September 1928 in Jianshui County, Yunnan Province. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1956. He was the director of the library of Kunming University and the deputy director of the scientific research office of higher education. Director and deputy research librarian of the National Association of Library and information of higher vocational schools.
Main achievements: in September 1941, he entered junior high school of Kunming Sino French middle school and graduated in 1944. He entered Kunming Longyuan middle school and high school in 1944 and graduated in 1947. In September 1947, he was admitted to the Department of Sociology of Yunnan University. In July 1949, he took part in the revolution and left Yunda. In January 1987, Yunnan University reissued the four-year undergraduate diploma according to the instructions of the central government. In 1957, he was transferred to the school of education administration under the Ministry of education of Beijing for one year. When he finished his studies, the college issued a qualified certificate in 1958. He has successively served as the people's Government of Jianshui County, chief of Civil Affairs Section, chief of education section, member of League County Party committee, alternate member of county Party committee, secretary and President of Party branch of Jianshui No.1 middle school, deputy director of Honghe Prefecture Bureau of education, director of Kunming University Library and deputy director of Higher Education Science Research Office. During the years of war and white terror, Comrade Wang Zongyao resolutely devoted himself to the revolution. In middle school and University, he received revolutionary ideological education like other progressive youth and patriotic students, and actively participated in the "121" patriotic student movement in Kunming and the "715" patriotic movement against the United States and Japan. In 1949, he was assigned to Jianmin Middle School of Jianshui County as a teacher. Later, he joined the fifth regiment of the tenth detachment of the border and vertical corps and was a political worker of the political department. As the principal of Jianshui No.1 middle school, he devoted himself to running the school well. During his 23 years in Jianshui No.1 middle school, he graduated more than 5000 students from the school. Among them, there are not only a group of senior intellectuals such as university and middle school principals (presidents), professors and experts, but also senior military generals, local leading cadres and outstanding scientific and technological talents. After they left the school, they became builders and backbones of all kinds of socialist fronts. For this reason, Jianshui No.1 middle school was praised and awarded by the province, prefecture and county for many times. It was listed as a key school in the province and became one of the famous middle schools in the province at that time. Due to the emphasis on practice, the seismological forecasting room and Biological Laboratory of Jianshui No.1 middle school are also well-known both inside and outside the province. In 1977, they were selected by the State Seismological Bureau as one of the 12 advanced units of seismological forecasting in China, and were awarded the banner of "combination of teaching and seismic research award". In 1986, he was transferred to Kunming University as the librarian. At that time, Kunming University was in the period of starting a business from scratch. While recruiting staff, he and his colleagues organized the purchase of books, materials and library facilities. They gave up their vacation and worked overtime for 25 consecutive days. After two years of hard work, the library building was finally completed. The office, acquisition and editing department, circulation and reading department and information reference room were set up in the library. There were 12 staff members. He worked hard while learning, studied hard and dared to innovate. He soon became familiar with the business and mastered the working procedures and various management knowledge of the library management. Kunming University Library soon became a university library with a certain scale. Comrade Wang Zongyao did his best to actively participate in some writing work. For example, in 1984, he participated in the drafting of the autonomous regulations of Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, which was passed by the provincial people's Congress and became the current regulations. In 1985, when he was the deputy director of Honghe Prefecture education chronicle Compilation Committee, he jointly organized the editing and publishing of Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture education Chronicle; in Kunming University, he participated in the editing and publishing of Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture education chronicle He was once a journal, and jointly published the first and second issue of Journal of Kunming University. In 1988, he published the English version of "Introduction to Kunming" for the Tourism Department of Kunming University. He was transferred to school in 1952 and retired in 1990. He worked hard in the education front for 37 years. No matter what position he was in, he was conscientious, dedicated and selfless. He devoted his whole life to the cause of education and made achievements. In 1988, he was rated as an excellent communist by the Party committee of Kunming University. In order to recognize his contribution, Kunming municipal Party committee and municipal government awarded him the honorary certificate of 37 years' education work in 1993, which affirmed and rewarded his work.
