Acting experience
He graduated from Baotou No.1 Middle School in 1998 and was admitted to the broadcasting Department of Beijing Broadcasting University in the same year. In 1999, Gao Bo began to work part-time in CCTV when he was in school. In 2002, Gao Bo graduated from Beijing Broadcasting College and joined the CCTV financial channel as the location host of the tourism program "tourism wind vane".
On March 28, 2005, he presided over the humorous talk show "tonight" of CCTV financial channel.
In 2006, he served as a judge of CCTV financial channel's special program "family story"; in March of the same year, he and Ouyang Xiadan co hosted the host selection program "charming new partner" of "Happy Dictionary".

On January 17, 2020, he co hosted CCTV 2020 network Spring Festival Gala with nigmaiti, Longyang and Yu Xiwen; on July 16, he co hosted CCTV 3.15 gala with Chen Weihong, Chen Beibei and Zhang Lin. On December 19, together with Kang Hui, Dong Qing, Ren Luyu, Zhu Xun and nigmaiti, he co hosted the new year's Eve program "set sail 2021".

Personal life
Gao Bo's wife, Lian Wei, is an alumnus with him. She graduated from Beijing Broadcasting University in 2002, majoring in broadcasting and hosting art. In 2005, she graduated from Communication University of China, majoring in Linguistics and applied linguistics, and studied for a doctor's degree in radio and television language communication. The two married and gave birth to a son in August 2010.
