CAI Jie, male, Han nationality, was born in July 1967 in Wuhan, Hubei Province, with a postgraduate degree. He joined the Communist Party of China in April 1992 and began to work in August 1988. He was once a member of the Standing Committee of Wuhan municipal Party committee, Secretary General of Wuhan municipal Party committee, and Secretary of the working committee of municipal organs.

On March 11, 2020, Hanjiang Branch of Hubei Provincial People's Procuratorate made a decision to arrest CAI Jie for suspected bribery and abuse of power.
