In 2007, at the age of 17, Lin yanrou took part in the selection activities of Taiwan singing group Hei se Hui Mei Mei Mei, but she was not selected. The next year, Lin yanrou entered the Taiwan University of Arts.

Lin yanrou was born in a "flower family". Her grandparents have grown and raised flowers by themselves for three generations.
