Ye Qi

Ye Qi, whose year of birth and death is unknown, was born in Jian'an (now Jianou nanyamei Village), and later moved to chonghuali (now Shufang township) in Jianyang. Ye Qi is the son of Ye Anren, the 50th grandson of Ye Gong Shen Zhuliang and the 9th grandson of Ye Hao. He studied Confucianism since he was young, and became a scholar in the first year of Duangong (988).

Profile

At that time, song Bai, the Minister of rites, was known as the official of Gongju. After he recruited twenty-eight people headed by Cheng Su, he thought that there was a lot of talent left in the world. As a result, Taizong's imperial edict failed in the second examination of Chongzheng Hall, and another 99 people were recruited. However, there was still a taxi named Ye Qi who complained against Deng Wengu that it was unfair to choose a scholar, so Taizong ordered that he was not selected for the imperial examination again in the temple of King Wu Cheng. Disgusted with Ye Qi's arrogance, the examiner took "a leaf falls and the world knows the autumn" as the title, and there were hundreds of qualified people. In the second round examination of Taizong, 31 Jinshi were recruited, among whom ye ranked first. As a result, hundreds of people entered the official career. After ye Qi won the title, he successively served as county magistrate of Guantao, zuolang of works, Zhiguo History Museum, and Yingzhou Tongtan (equivalent to modern leading cadres at the deputy department level). In October 2006, Fujian people's Publishing House published the book "the number one scholar in Fujian history" (page 9-10). But he is still not the number one scholar in the exact sense.
