[plant morphology] Buddleja inebripennis

Perennial herbs, 60-100 cm high. The fibrous roots are flexible. Stem erect, smooth, a few tufted, usually 3-4 nodes, attached with micro hairs under nodes, with scales at the base, leaf sheath slightly thick and astringent; ligule membranous, hard, top truncated or dentate, about 1 mm long; leaf hard, erect, usually rolled, rough above and edge, 10-30 cm long, 2-7 mm wide. Panicles linear, erect or apex declinate, closely spaced at the lower part, 10-25 cm long and 10-15 mm wide, very long at maturity; spikelets grayish green, brownish copper or purplish at maturity, 5-6 mm long; glumes of equal length, apex pointed but often ruptured, membranous. Caryopsis cylindrical, ca. 3 mm long. The flowering and fruiting period is autumn.

It grows on low hillside grassland, piedmont plain and desert area. Distributed in Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Gansu, Jilin, Qinghai, Xinjiang and other places.
