Early experience

On January 2, 1956, Wei Ji'an was born in zhuyouguan Town, Longkou City, Shandong Province.

In 1974, he was admitted by the drama troupe of Xinjiang Military Region and began to play some supporting roles and one act plays. In June of the same year, he joined the army.

In 1976, the drama troupe of Xinjiang Military Region recruited students nationwide. Wei Ji'an, 20, stood out and became the only student admitted to Yantai.

Acting experience

In 1990, he won the seventh Chinese Drama Plum Blossom award.

Since 1991, he has participated in many performances of CCTV Spring Festival Gala.

In 1993, he began to enjoy special government allowance.
