Xu Chen

Xu Chen, male, born in August 1955 in Lingcheng District, Dezhou City. He is a member of China Writers Association, a director of China prose society, and a national first-class writer. Vice chairman of Shandong Writers Association, director of literary journals and publishing Committee, editor in chief of former president of Shandong literature magazine, and literary consultant of national culture society, a famous cultural association in China. He graduated from the literature department of the Art College of the PLA in July 1989 and studied in the advanced research class of Lu Xun Art College from April to December 2003. He is a member of the 12th CPPCC, a top talent of Qingdao, and a winner of the 5th Bingxin prose award and the 7th Lu Xun Literature Award.

Character experience

From 1961 to 1970, he was educated at the construction Street Primary School and the Dezhou one middle school in Dezhou, Shandong province. She joined the work in September 1971, worked as a worker in Dezhou gear factory, made progress and transferred to Dezhou Cultural Bureau and Shandong Union. He joined the army in 1979 and served successively as a creator of the Political Department of the air force of Jinan Military Region, a propaganda officer and chief of the propaganda section of an aviation department. He graduated from the literature department of Art College of PLA in July 1989. In 1990, he was awarded the rank of major in the air force.

In 1991, he transferred to Shandong literature magazine of Shandong Writers Association, and successively served as deputy director of the Department, assistant editor in chief, deputy editor in chief, executive editor in chief and president.

Main works

He is the author of more than ten long reportages and documentary literature, such as home ownership: a record of China's housing system reform, dream of Sydney, biography of Kong Fansen, fire spring, light of time, bloody Jindalai, blood sacrifice to Kanto, etc.

In April 2017, an excerpt of "a man's sea -- the story of Guo Chuan, a Chinese navigator" was published. This is the first long reportage describing Guo Chuan's deeds in China, which will be published by Qingdao publishing house as a key book.

Award winning record

On August 11, 2018, he won the reportage award of the 7th Lu Xun Literature Award with the fourth pole: China Jiaolong challenges the deep sea (the 11th issue of the documentary edition of Chinese writers in 2015).

"The big stage of life - Apocalypse of model operas" published in October magazine won the first prize of serial works of the third national city newspaper, and the reportage Yimeng Silk Road published in people's daily won the annual excellent literary works award of the newspaper. The essay "when the motherland needs it" published in "Dazhong daily" won the second prize of the first youth work in Shandong Province. The long reportage "years of iron and steel casting" published by Xinhua Publishing House and the long reportage "majestic" Taishan "- Shandong Luneng Taishan football team won the double crown" published by Shandong literature and art publishing house won two Shandong Provincial Excellent Project Awards in a row. After the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, he went to Beichuan several times to write a reportage "true love for Beichuan", which reflects the Shandong people's full assistance to Beichuan. It was published by Shandong people's Publishing House and published by China Modern Literature Museum in 2010. It was listed in the new harvest column of reportage. In 2010, when he was founded in Qingdao for 120 years, Xu Chen started his writing by visiting Qingdao archives. He wrote a brilliant and profound prose "memory of Qingdao", which was published in the literary works edition of people's daily. He won the first prize of "Daishan Cup" National Marine Literature Competition and the fifth Bingxin prose award. Since he was engaged in literary work, Xu Chen has carefully solicited contributions. Every year, many of his works have been selected and published by Xinhua digest, selected novels, novel monthly, selected small novels and selected essays. In 2006, he won the outstanding prize of Shandong Province, which has made due contributions to the cultivation of Shandong writers and the prosperity of literature.
