Zheng Tianhui was born in Hefei, Anhui Province. As a child, she was in poor health and often had a fever. She had to stay in the hospital four to five days a week for recuperation. But since she was 6 years old, she has become healthy. In 2006, she left the mainland to come to Hong Kong for development and turned to play for Hong Kong, China. However, due to language problems, she could not make friends and stayed at home every day after hard practice.

In October 2009, Zheng Tianhui participated in the 10th World Wushu Championship held in Toronto, Canada. She won 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze in women's shooting, fencing, long boxing and competition.

In 2010, Zheng represented Hong Kong, China in the 2010 Asian Games and won the silver medal in women's fencing and shooting.

In October 2011, Zheng Tianhui took part in the 11th World Wushu Championship in Ankara, Turkey, winning silver medal in women's fencing and bronze medal in Changquan.
