Yu Jilian

Yu Jilian, a Hong Kong film director, was born in Guangdong in 1940. He has worked in the Hong Kong film circle for more than 30 years. In 1987, he founded Weiyi film company and served as an independent producer. He has worked as a photography director in the film "happy face" and the TV series "tiancanbian", and directed films such as "fight against Tianmen", "love between cloud and rain", "Shaolin Damo" and "modern eating laziness". During the glorious period of Hong Kong films, he often cooperated with famous artists such as Hu Huizhong, Ren Dahua and Gu Tianle.

In 1998, he and his wife Jiang Xuemei settled in Chongqing.

Personal experience

In the 1980s and 1990s, Yu Jilian was the general manager, independent producer and well-known action film director of Hong Kong Weiyi film company. His representative works include: decisive battle in Tianmen and Shaolin Dharma starred by Hu Huizhong. He is also the Chief Photographer of Taiwan's blockbuster film Huanyan. In the mid-1990s, due to rampant piracy, the film industry in Hong Kong suffered a heavy blow. After making the films "blind man's stepping on the river again" and "two heroes in the province and Hong Kong", Yu Jilian decided to stop filming for a period of time.

In 1998, Yu Jilian settled in Chongqing with his wife Jiang Xuemei. When he saw Tianfu town surrounded by mountains, the beautiful Jinyun Mountain and the rolling Jialing River, he got drunk. At the end of this year, they got their marriage certificates.

Xieying didn't quit forever. In 2012, she came back with her new work "walking in the snow to find plum blossom". After living in Chongqing for more than 20 years, Yu Jilian didn't give up his creation. In a few years, he created five movie scripts. In 2009, he shot one of the ancient costume action movies "walking on the snow to find plum blossom" in Chongqing, and then in 2015, he shot another love movie "infinite youth".

Personal life

Yu lives in Tianfu town, about 10 kilometers away from Beibei City, surrounded by mountains. In Yu Jilian's mind, this small town on the Jialing River seems to be isolated from the era of rapid progress, and he seems to have become a real "mountain man". He said: I like the mountains here, and there is no lack of beauty in the majestic. No matter how impetuous people come here, they will feel calm. This kind of tranquility can never be found in a big city full of power and money. Perhaps, this is the place where the martial arts novels are hidden.

Yu Jilian said frankly that seclusion does not mean withdrawal, and there is no temptation in economy and fame to go out of the mountain again. The main reason is that he has feelings for the soil and water in Chongqing. "Chongqing has such a profound history and culture, but it has not been reflected in the film and television works. It gave me the urge to come back again So in 2009, I shot two new works.

Practicing boxing, carrying water, writing scripts and coming back again

Yu Jilian's life in Chongqing is very comfortable. Every day, he not only goes to the mountains to pick up spring water with his wife who is more than 20 years younger than himself, but also is infatuated with Chinese Kung Fu. After several years of training, he has become a "martial arts expert" in the small town. Later, in order to add some fun to life, the couple also ran a small noodle stand.

Yu Jilian said: "most of us are night owls. About six years ago, I began to write and paint about what I saw and heard, mostly to express my feelings. In the next few years, I had the idea of writing scripts, because I often went to Chaotianmen wharf. Every time I looked at the surging river where the two rivers met, some wind and cloud stories naturally came to my eyes. In order to keep everything in my mind, I often wrote all night. "

Xieying is not a permanent exit. In 2012, Yu Jilian returned to the world with his new work "walking on the snow to find plum blossom". In 2015, he made the love movie "youth is infinite". In more than 20 years of living in Chongqing, he wrote five plays. He plans to shoot and produce several other plays and move them to the screen.
