Zhou Chenglong was born in Shanghai in 1946.

Zhou Chenglong persistently pursues the novel and rigorous style in composing art, and makes great efforts in creative attempt in composing techniques, so as to reveal the brand-new appearance of the breadth and depth of Chinese folk music, and forms his own unique style with the verve of Chinese music. He is one of the musicians who have made outstanding contributions to the development of contemporary Chinese music.

Life experience

In 1987, Zhou Chenglong led a delegation to perform in Germany and served as a conductor, visiting 15 cities in Germany.

In 2001, at the APEC summit, he adapted "ballads of all countries in the world" and at the APEC Ministerial Meeting in 2002, his percussion and band Concerto imitated Tang music "spring and Jingming", which reflected his unique music language and aesthetic taste. He made great efforts to make himself broader, newer and more distinctive in the music road, and won high praise from all walks of life.

Zhou Chenglong was once the deputy head of Shanghai National Orchestra, and now he is a national first-class composer. He is a member of China Musicians Association, director of Shanghai Musicians Association, executive director of China National Orchestra Society, director of National Orchestra Professional Committee of Shanghai Musicians Association, and artistic director of Shanghai Youth Philharmonic Orchestra.

Main works

Zhou Chenglong is a very active and prolific composer in the music field. His major works include Erhu Concerto Jiang Lian. There are nearly 500 pieces of works with different styles and combinations, including Pipa Concerto sunset in Xishuangbanna, Zhonghu Concerto legend of kelaqin grassland, Flute Concerto mountain breeze, guqin Concerto Guanglingsan, grand ensemble Capriccio in Western Sichuan, crossing the ocean, Taiwan suite and Wei Feng. He also composed music for more than 20 TV dramas. In recent years, he has created large-scale national orchestral works such as Shanju, Shanquan and Caifeng in western Yunnan, as well as deep love in the river for Singapore Chinese Orchestra, and published more than 20 personal music albums of different types, such as sunrise in the desert, legend of Matouqin and Zen tea Yiwei. He adapted and orchestrated guqin music "shenrenchang", "gufengcao", "chongxiaoyin" and "meihuasannong". Guzheng music "carriage man dance music (girl of Dabancheng)" and "qiufengci" are regarded as the best of Guqin music treasure house. In recent years, he founded Shanghai Longyun Music Production Co., Ltd., relying on and uniting a group of famous composers: he Zhanhao, Gu Guanren, Xu Jingxin, Fu Peihua and so on, and held dozens of folk flag music concerts of different types, which were highly praised by the society. In order to carry forward and develop folk music, he unremittingly publicized and taught folk music knowledge, and aimed at the music market demand of the new situation.
