Research direction

Yao Yan is mainly engaged in the research and development of high performance concrete, concrete admixtures, concrete durability and related materials. In recent years, the main research direction is concrete durability. As the project leader or one of the project leaders, he has completed nearly 20 scientific research projects. Presided over the national "Ninth Five Year" key scientific and technological research project "Research on concrete safety of key projects" and the national "Tenth Five Year" key scientific and technological research project "Research on new high performance concrete and its durability". Director of the national major basic research project "basic research on Preparation and application of high performance cement" and the international cooperation project "Research on high performance concrete". Ten national and ministerial awards for scientific and technological progress have been awarded and nearly 40 papers have been published. At present, we are recruiting doctoral candidates in high performance concrete, concrete durability and advanced cement-based materials.

Main works

Professor Yao Yan has published more than 100 papers in domestic and foreign journals, edited three academic papers, including research and engineering application of concrete safety in key projects, research and application of new high performance concrete, and science and technology of cement-based materials, and published the monograph high performance concrete in 2006.

Major projects

From 1996 to 2000, as the project leader, he completed the research on the concrete safety of the key project of the ninth five year plan, which won the second prize of the national science and technology progress award.
From 2000 to 2002, as the project leader, he completed the research on new high performance concrete and its durability, which is the key scientific and technological project of the tenth five year plan.
From 2002 to 2006, as the project leader, he completed the sixth project (environmental behavior and failure mechanism of high-performance cement and cement-based materials) of the national major basic research project (973 project), "basic research on Preparation and application of high-performance cement". The project has passed the appraisal and obtained the research results with international leading level.
In 2004, he undertook the research work of the third subject of the key project of National Natural Science Foundation of China - "Research on the formation and development mechanism and control technology of concrete structure cracks".
Since 2008, I have been responsible for the research work of the National Natural Science Foundation Project "design of fiber reinforced cement-based composites based on self-healing function".
