Wang Zijing

Wang Zijing, born in Suzhou, is a Pipa player, the sound director of the plucked string group of Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, and the art director of Pipa and Wuji plucked string orchestra.

In 1976, Wang Zijing joined the China broadcasting national orchestra and Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra since 1987. She has spared no effort to promote modern new music. She has successfully cooperated in International Music Festival, Hong Kong Music New Culture and various dance troupes. She has performed many modern Pipa solo works for the first time.

In 1991, she was invited by the Taipei Municipal National Orchestra to hold a recital of zhongruan and Pipa in Taipei; in 1995, she held a special Pipa concert in the Hong Kong City Hall; in 2000, she was invited by the Hong Kong Arts Festival to perform in the multi-media concert "Pipa image collection".

As a lute soloist, she has performed in collaboration with the British San Martian Orchestra, the Philippine National Symphony Orchestra, the Russian Orchestra, the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra, the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra, the Taiwan Provincial Symphony Orchestra, the Taipei Municipal Orchestra, the Chinese Central National Orchestra, the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, the Hong Kong Orchestra, the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra.

In 1997, she performed "the sound of the mountain" with the British St. Martin Orchestra; in 2001, she performed with the Hong Kong Sinfonietta at the French St. Richards Music Festival; in 2002, she performed Tan Dun's "Pipa and string Concerto" with the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra at the new vision art festival, which was directed by the composer himself; in 2003, she performed "thousand chapter sweeps" with the Japanese Kyushu Symphony Orchestra; in 2003 and 2004, she also performed "thousand chapter sweeps" with the Japanese Kyushu Symphony Orchestra In 2005, she performed "Yi Bi Cao Cao" with the Hong Kong Orchestra twice. In 2005, she represented Hong Kong to Canada to perform in "China New Music Festival", which was well received.
