Cizhu Township, belonging to Wanzhou District of Chongqing, is located in the southeast of Wanzhou District. It is connected with Longju town and Changtan town in the East, Zouma town in the south, Xintian town in the West and Changling town in the north. In Xia and Shang Dynasties, Cizhu Township belonged to Liangzhou; in 1983, Cizhu commune was changed into Cizhu township. History of construction
In Xia and Shang Dynasties, it belonged to Liangzhou.

In 1920, cizhuchang was built; in 1935, Xintian township was built.
In August 1953, it was established in Cizhu Township, under the jurisdiction of Xintian District, Wanxian city, Sichuan Province.
In April 1958, Cizhu township was changed into Cizhu commune.
In 1983, Cizhu commune was transformed into Cizhu township.
In December 1992, after Xintian district was abolished, it was subordinate to Wuqiao District, Wanxian city, Sichuan Province.
In July 1998, after Wuqiao district was abolished, it was subordinate to Wanzhou District.
In October 2004, Xiaotang village of Yousha township was assigned to Cizhu township.
