Caiyuan town

Caiyuan town is located in the east of Tangyin County, Henan Province, adjacent to rengu town in the East, Guxian town in the west, huolonggang town in the South and Wagang Township in the north, and Wadian Township in Anyang County across the river in the north. The total area is 76.58 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 36 administrative villages with a population of 52057 (2017). The town government is located in Caiyuan East Street, 18 kilometers away from the county. Hutai highway runs through the whole town.

Caiyuan commune was established in 1958, township was changed in 1984, and town was established in 1989. In 1997, it covers an area of 76.6 square kilometers and has a population of 49000. It has jurisdiction over Caiyuan East Street, Caiyuan West Street, Caiyuan South Street, Caiyuan North Street, shangjinzhai, Nanqing, Shixinzhuang, dabiaodian, donggangtou, hougangtou, Guansi, Houzhuang, Chenggang village, Tongzhuang, yangxinzhuang, Beiqing village, guangpingchang, xiaopiandian, qiangangtou, liyaohui, baomachang, qianhuangfu, Houfu, qiangaohan and Hougao Han, Gezhuang, Dapo, Xiaopo, Xihe, xiyaohui, Yangzhuang, Sanba village, Maying 33 administrative villages.

Economics

Caiyuan town is high in the southwest and low in the northeast. The total area of cultivated land in the town is 81000 mu, including 52% plain, 33% depression and 15% hill. The main crops in the town are wheat, corn, cotton, peanut, sweet potato, rape, watermelon, etc.

scenic spot

There are many cultural relics in the territory. There is Yuefei family temple in Chenggang village, northwest of the town. Wanrenshan in the southwest of the town is said to be the place where King Zhou of Yin killed Bigan. The existing ZhangQian Temple (commonly known as Gaohan Temple) was built to commemorate Zhang Qian, who was sent to the western regions during the Western Han Dynasty. Xihe village, Southeast of the town, is the oldest village in the county. The capital of Xia Dynasty was moved here for the sixth time. Confucius disciples Bu Zixia, Tian Zifang and Duan ganmu once set up altars here to give lectures. Now there is the site of Zixia temple.
