Daqiao town

Daqiao Town, subordinate to Xiushui County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the west of Xiushui County, at the junction of Hunan, Hubei and Jiangxi provinces. It is the west gate of Xiushui County, reaching Longmen town and Daping township of Pingjiang County, Hunan Province in the west, Shiao Township and Shangshan Township in the East, yuduan Township in the South and Shuiyuan Township in the north. With an area of 121.87 square kilometers, it governs 1 community, 16 administrative villages, 9 resident groups and 287 villager groups.

In 2019, Daqiao town will achieve a total agricultural output value of 93.7 million yuan, a total industrial output value of 270 million yuan, a total financial revenue of 89.5267 million yuan and a per capita net income of 4976 yuan.

History of construction

At the end of the Qing Dynasty, the territory was divided into 61 capitals, 63 capitals, 64 capitals and 66 capitals of Renxiang township of Fenning county (ningzhou and Yining).

During the period of the Republic of China, the territory belonged to Huanglong District of Xiushui county. Before liberation, it belonged to Daqiao Township and Baisha Township of Huanglong district.

In the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China, there were Daqiao Township, Liyuan Township, Shankou Township, Xiyin Township, Motian Township, Shawan Township and yuduan Township in Daqiao district; in 1958, Shawan commune and Daqiao commune were established; in 1968, they were merged into Daqiao commune; in 1972, they were restored to Zhuxi commune and Shawan commune; in 1984, they were replaced by Zhuxi Township and Shawan township; in 1993, they were replaced by Zhuxi Township and Shawan township In January 1996, Shawan Township and Zhuxi town were merged into Daqiao town.

Daqiao town is located in the west of Xiushui County, reaching Longmen town and Daping township of Pingjiang County in Hunan Province in the west, Shiao Township and Shangshan Township in the East, yuduan Township in the South and Shuiyuan Township in the north. Daqiao town is located in hilly areas, the overall terrain is high in the East and low in the West. There are Tulong mountains, Shengfeng mountains and so on, with an altitude of about 1000 meters. The territory is mainly eroded and denuded hilly landforms, with alluvial valley plains in the middle. The ground elevation is generally 180 meters above sea level, the highest point Tulong mountain is 1080.30 meters above sea level, and the lowest point dagangbei is 157 meters above sea level.

Daqiao town belongs to the Miluo River system, with water flowing from Shuiyuan Township and Huanglong Township in the north, 8.6 km in length; Shangshan water flowing from Takeng in the southeast, 7.1 km in length; Jingyuan and Aotian water flowing from Liyuan in the northeast, 6.3 km in length. The first three rivers are called Daqiao water after the confluence of the town. The river is 22 kilometers long and flows into the Miluo River in Hunan Province from the West.
