The famous Musees Royal des Beaux Arts is located in the north of the grand square area. It displays the works of many famous Belgian painters from ancient times to the present, such as Rober campin, Roger van der Weyden, Peter Breughel the elder, etc.

The museum is divided into Musees d'art ancien and Musees d'art modern. The former shows classical paintings before the 18th century, with color as the division. The blue area shows works from the 15th to 16th centuries, the most famous of which is Peter Breughel's "the fall of Icarus"; the brown area shows works from the 17th to 18th centuries. The latter is divided by color. The yellow area has famous works from neoclassicism, Romanticism, realism to symbolism; the green area is mainly composed of modern art and sculpture, such as Fauvism, cubism, futurism, expressionism, surrealism, the famous surrealist artist Dali's "the temptation of St Anthony and Francis's "the pope with the owls" can be represented.
